MUSIC HAS THE POWER TO HEAL, ACCORDING TO AMERICANA ARTIST, NATALIE JEAN!!
Your music is definitely making a difference in the world, Natalie!!
Hi Natalie! Thank you for being here today! What first got you into music? I started out by writing poetry. This would help me through a lot of hard times. My parents encouraged me to create a demo using some of the poems, as well as some of my father's songs. What would you be doing right now, if music wasn't your career? I am an interfaith minister. I would own my own community center. I would be teaching courses on spirituality. How do you feel the internet has impacted the music business? The internet has impacted the music industry in a tremendous way. I think that it has helped the independent artist community. It also has allowed for different avenues of how your music can be heard. It has helped in creating some of the greatest collaborations. What is your favorite venue to perform at? Do you have any venues you are dying to perform at? Mr. Henry's in Washington, DC. My dream is to perform at Madison Square Garden. How would you describe the music you typically create? Thought-provoking. I want my music to make a difference in the world. How important is authenticity to you?
Authenticity is very important to me. It is #1 on my list. I think that staying true to who you are as an artist, speaks volumes to how the audience can relate to what you are expressing. I love artists that are not afraid to sing about their experiences in life. I believe that music has the power to heal. What is one message you would like to give to your fans?
